Yan Chen completed her PhD in Physics at the University of Sheffield in the group of Professor David Lidzey (2022–2026), where her research focused on exciton-polaritons in two-dimensional perovskite microcavities. Her work combined optical cavity fabrication, angle-resolved optical measurements, and ultrafast spectroscopy to investigate the dynamics of strongly coupled light–matter systems.
Following her PhD, Yan joined EPMM as a postdoctoral researcher. Her current research focuses on quantum battery concepts, exploring how strong light–matter coupling can be harnessed to control energy harvesting and enhance the performance of next-generation photonic and energy-storage devices.
