Dinesh Behera

Dinesh Behera is a PhD student at the University of Sheffield, working on spray-coated perovskite solar cells with carbon fibre composites under the supervision of Prof. David Lidzey. His research aims to develop lightweight and efficient solar energy solutions for portable power and aerospace applications. Dinesh's work includes synthesising new photovoltaic materials and optimising the spray-coating fabrication technique to improve solar cell performance and durability.

Before his PhD, Dinesh earned a Master’s in Solar Cell Technology from the University of Sheffield, where he researched drift-diffusion simulations for wide bandgap perovskite solar cells, and an Integrated MSc in Physics from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, where he worked on developing SnO2/rGO nanocomposites for photovoltaic applications. He is strongly interested in photovoltaic materials and device physics. He believes that the holistic approach of fabrication, characterisation, and modelling is paramount for a comprehensive understanding of PV device physics.

Outside of research, Dinesh is an avid sci-fi fantasy enthusiast, with a special fondness for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He also enjoys cooking food and hiking, providing a refreshing balance to his academic pursuits and a way to unwind.
